Who we are
Y was founded by four friends, Samuel Qing, Esme Lin, Daniel Li, and Vasilisa Stoliarova, who recognized that the future is uncertain, and young people are rarely given the tools to navigate it. We are a platform for training thinkers, protecting democracy, and preparing for a stable future. We actively analyze global issues, produce research, publish essays and articles, and create spaces for dialogue—so that anyone can use Y as a platform to explore, contribute, and engage with the world. Our Labs: British Parliamentary Debate, Global Issues, and Model UN are just one way we put this philosophy into action, providing interactive environments where ideas are tested and reasoning is sharpened.
What makes Y unique is that our work is youth-led but universally engaged. While young people drive discussions and lead projects, the organization itself contributes actively to research, publications, and public discourse. Our programs are globally accessible yet regionally tailored, blending universal principles with local relevance, and select in-person Labs provide deeper, real-world engagement.
At Y, success is measured not by tests, certificates, or competitions, but by how ideas are developed, how arguments are refined, and how participants and members alike act to influence the future. We are a movement for thinkers of tomorrow, an ecosystem where anyone, anywhere, can contribute, engage, and prepare for an unpredictable world while defending democracy and fostering a stable, informed future.
